What's in a name?
amica n. from the Latin amicus meaning friend.
The name Amica represents the caring guidance and friendship found in the Pregnancy Crisis Centre.
Many people find themselves in a dilemma when faced with an unplanned pregnancy or pregnancy problems, and are often left in the lonely situation of wondering what the way forward is. Friendship, help and guidance are needed. These are the very things that the Amica Pregnancy Crisis Centre aims to offer, and are the inspiration for the Amica identity.
The Maze
- The Maze illustrates how people can often become stuck in difficult and puzzling situations.
- They feel lost, cannot see the way out and sometimes need a friend to show them the way forward.
- Amica, the Latin for friend, and where the word amicable comes from, represents the caring guidance and friendship found in the Pregnancy Crisis Centre.
- People who find themselves in a crisis situation, who feel like they are lost in a maze with no obvious way out, can turn to Amica for the support and friendship they so desperately need.
