amica recipe book
The sponsored walk held on 7th June 2003 raised approximately £2,000 for the work of the Amica Pregnancy Crisis Centre.

The sponsored walk was organised by a client who used the Amica services a couple of years ago. This is his story:

I eventually picked up the telephone to Amica and asked for help. Several years ago as part of a relationship that did not work out I lost a baby. Back then, under the circumstances of the day although a difficult decision it appeared to be the right one all things considered. I was wrong; nothing could have prepared me for the consequences. The running away; the realisation of my actions; the recriminations; the hurt; the arguments; the guilt; the questions; the shame; the drinking; the self-loathing; the regret; and the "if only..."
After that telephone conversation I was given the greatest gift. The opportunity to talk to someone who did not judge me (I could do that for myself). I am very grateful to my counsellor for having the greatest of "patience" to follow me on my journey toward healing. I commend the work of the Amica team and ask you to support them in providing the gift I received to other people in a similar situation.
