Had
an abortion? Finding it difficult to come to terms with an abortion? Scared
to talk about it in case you are judged or misunderstood? Amica offers
post abortion support.
A
client comments,
"When I first walked into Amica feeling so low
and depressed I thought that there was no hope. Somehow though you start
seeing things in a different light and realise that there is a way of
getting through this. It is a healing process and you just learn how to
deal with it and let go of the trauma that you've been through.
Abortion is a subject you can't just discuss with anyone and even when
you try you feel that no one understands. That's why organisations like
Amica are so important and you find the answers to so many doubts and
worries. You realise you are not the only one feeling this way. I hope
others who have been through this traumatic experience find the help that
I did."
Post
abortion support will help to deal with the problem and symptoms of
post
abortion stress.

Need practical help or support? Don't think you can manage alone? Amica
offers a befriending service - people willing to support you whatever
your decision is. Amica can also provide help with baby clothes and equipment
and information on services and benefits available to you.

Amica has already visited a number of schools in the Edinburgh area. This involves talking about the issues surrounding unplanned pregnancies and abortions.
The interactive presentation encourages pupils to consider the dilemmas involved in parenting, adoption and abortion.
